Day 1

Arrive at O.R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.

Transfer pick up from Airport.

We’ll take the Soweto Tour and Apartheid Museum including lunch

After we’ll transfer to Castello Di Monte in Waterkloof for dinner and overnight

ROVOS RAIL to CAPE TOWN

 

This 1,600-kilometre meander is a perfect illustration of South Africa as a world in one country. Travel the grasslands of the gold-rich Highveld to the haunting barrenness of the Great Karoo. Highlights of the southbound routes include a visit to the historic village of Matjiesfontein; this authentic perfectly preserved Victorian Village – founded by Mr Logan as a refreshment stop in 1890 – also boasts an impressive museum on the platform. Another stop is made in Kimberley providing an opportunity to enjoy a city tour and a visit to the Diamond Mine Museum and the world’s largest man-made excavation, the Big Hole

DAY 2

15.00hrs Depart from Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria. Dinner and overnight on the train. *Evening – Dress Formal

 DAY 3

10.00hrs The train arrives in Kimberley. Passengers visit the Big Hole and the Diamond Mine Museum.

12.30hrs Depart Kimberley and proceed overnight via De Aar and Beaufort West to Matjiesfontein. Evening – Dress Formal

 DAY 4

08.15hrs Enjoy a visit to the historic village of Matjiesfontein.

10.30hrs The train departs for Cape Town via Touws River and Worcester.

18.00hrs Arrive at Cape Town Station’s Platform 24.

Meet and greet at Cape Town Train Station and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 5

After breakfast we’ll take a Full day Cape Point and Peninsula Tour which includes the following highlights.

Boat trip to Seal Island (Subject to weather conditions on the day) – Clifton Camp Bay Beach – Cape Point – The most South – Westerly Trip of the African Continent – False Bay – The Largest Bay in Southern Africa – Cape Point Ostrich Farm – Boulders Penguin Colony – Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens – Good Hope Nature Reserve.

DAY 6

After breakfast we will be visiting Robben Island whose most famous resident was Nelson Mandela. The visit will include highlights as follows:

Ferry trip to and from the Island (Subject to weather conditions on the day) – Breath-taking view of Cape Town and Table Mountain – Bus Tour around the Island – Visit Nelson Mandela Cell – Walking tour of Prison (Conducted by former inmates) – Penguin Colony – Late Afternoon to the Two Ocean Aquarium (Closes at 18h00)

DAY 7

After breakfast we take the Cape Town City Tour which includes highlights as follows:

Cape Town Cable Mountain (Subject to weather conditions on the day) – Green Market Square – Castle of Good Hope – Company Gardens.

After lunch it’s off on the Wineland Tour which includes the highlights of Paarl, Stellenbosch, Wine, Cheese and Olive Tasting.

Evening Dinner at GOLD Restaurant – a vibrant pan-African experience offering a set Cape Malay and African menu, together with live entertainment and ‘djembe’ drumming 7 nights a week. Operating from an old warehouse building and a modern function venue, GOLD offers visitors a sophisticated African experience.

DAY 8 – DAY 9 

After breakfast we head to Cape Town Airport * and fly to Sabi Sands Game Reserve.

We’ll be met and transferred to Ulusaba – in Sir Richard Branson’s Private Game Reserve

* Depending on flight availability, you might have to fly via Johannesburg for the connection flight to Sabi Sands Game Reserve Airstrip.

During your stay at Ulusaba you can enjoy:

DAY 10

After breakfast we fly back to Johannesburg to get our connecting flight back home.
