This 12 Nights / 13 Days is an example of what can be achieved with these few days. It includes exhilarating experiences as well as taking in the ‘must see’ sights in  Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Mumbai.

 DAY 01                      DELHI          

Arrive Delhi. (Flight details to be advised)

On arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

Check in at the hotel – Rest day is free at leisure.

DAY 02                      DELHI          

Breakfast at the hotel proceed for a City tour of Old and New Delhi.

Old Delhi – Drive past the magnificent Red Fort (closed on Mondays), Jama Masjid. Drive past Kotla Firoze Shah, ruins of an old fort of the 14th century.

Visit Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948.

Enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride in the by lanes of Chandni Chowk.

Afternoon – (Optional) ‘Old Delhi Food Walk’

A food walk through crowded markets of Old Delhi, this food walk will help you taste the best street food available in Delhi from some of the oldest food places in the city. During this food walk, we will visit 7-8 different food joints, each one of which is in business for decades, some being as old as 120 years. We will walk through some landmark markets, lively markets, walk a bit and stuff ourselves with delicious street food of Old Delhi.

Later proceed for half day city tour of New Delhi – Drive past the Presidential Palace, the Rashtrapati, the impressive Rajpath to the World War I memorial arch, the India Gate. Visit the Qutub Minar, the 72 meter high Minaret.

DAY 03                      DELHI – AGRA       

Breakfast at hotel. Leave for Agra via Expressway (204 Km / approx. 3 hrs)

Arrive Agra and check in to the hotel.

Afternoon – proceed for half day city tour of Agra.

Visit Agra Fort – behind its forbidding red sandstone battlements lays a palace that tells the story of the Moghul Empire. Visit Taj Mahal by Sunset (closed on Friday).

Enjoy a Tonga ride (Horse carriage) from the vehicle parking area to gate of Taj Mahal.

The Greatest love Story ever told on the death of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, Shahjehan built her this memorial. It took 22 years to build this monument.

DAY 04                      AGRA            / JAIPUR

Early morning – (Optional) – Experience ‘Laughter Yoga’.

This is based on the belief that voluntary laughter provides the same physiological and psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter. Laughter yoga is practiced in the early mornings in open parks. Laughter yoga was made popular as an exercise routine developed by Indian physician Madan Kataria, who writes about the practice in his 2002 book Laugh for No Reason.

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart by road to Jaipur. En route visit Fate1hpur Sikri

(240 kilometres/ approx. 6 hrs).

Fatehpur Sikri 37 kilometres west of Agra lies the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri – an epic poem in red sandstone, built by Emperor Akbar the Great in 1569 and deserted 14 Years later because its water supply failed.

Late afternoon arrive Jaipur and check into the hotel.

DAY 05                     JAIPUR

Breakfast at the hotel. Half day excursion to Amber Fort – 7 miles north of Jaipur is Amber with it’s a honey- coloured fortress-palace in the Aravalli Hills.  It has been described as “the sleeping beauty of Rajasthan”. Ride up to the fort mounted on elephants.

Afternoon – city tour of Jaipur –Photo stop at ‘Hawa Mahal’ (Palace of Winds) Visit – Jai Singh’s Observatory built in the 17th century by the founder of Jaipur who, besides being a prince was also soldier, astronomer and builder. Also visit- City Palace, a part is now a museum that contains fine Rajput and Moghul paintings, rare manuscripts and an armoury, old carpets, and even amazingly embroidered clothes of the Maharajas and the Maharanis.

DAY 06                      JAIPUR

Breakfast at the hotel. Optional– Visit to ‘Elefantastic’ for an interactive program with the elephants. You can touch, feed and learn about elephant decoration, medicines and their treatment.

Return to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for independent activities.

DAY 07                      JAIPUR/ JODHPUR

Breakfast at the Hotel. Depart by road to Jodhpur (285 kilometres/ approx. 06 hrs)

Arrive Jodhpur and check in to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for independent activities.

DAY 08                      JODHPUR

Breakfast at the Hotel. Experience the ‘Flying Fox Zip 1’Chokelao Challenge (115 metres) glides over lush, green Chokelao Garden, with great views of the Blue City.

Later proceed for city tour of Jodhpur visit the Meherangarh Fort- 393 feet above the flat surrounding plain soars a bold bluff on which was built the massive ‘Meherangarh’ (Majestic) Fort. On the road down from the Fort see Jaswant Thada, the blinding white marble cenotaph (chhatri) of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II and Clock Towers which stands in the city centre.

Evening enjoy a Jeep ride to a ‘Bishnoi’ Tribal village and interact with a family. A perfect place to experience the traditions and customs of the Bishnoi tribal life.

DAY 09                      JODHPUR / JAISALMER

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart by road to Jaisalmer (325 kilometres / approx. 7 hrs)

Late afternoon arrive Jaisalmer and check in to the hotel.

Day 10                        JAISALMER

Breakfast at the hotel.  Proceed for a half day city tour of Jaisalmer visiting Jaisalmer Fort, built in the 12th century and where a fourth of the city’s population now lives. Admire the richly carved Jain temples and havelis nearby.

In the afternoon enjoy a camel ride at Sam Sand Dunes followed by high-tea on the dunes.

One of the most popular excursions from the city. This band of sand dunes is about 2 kilometres long and is undeniably one of the most picturesque in the region.

Enjoy an adventurous ‘Dune Bashing’ jeep ride which in Jaisalmer is a unique sporting spectacle, an experience of a lifetime. Rajasthan’s “Golden city” – Jaisalmer is fast growing as a popular location for desert adventure sports.

DAY 11                      JAISALMER            / MUMBAI

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to airport for the flight to Mumbai

11:00 hrs         Board flight SG 480 to Mumbai

12:35 hrs         Arrive Mumbai airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Check-in and rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 12                      MUMBAI

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed for half day tour of Elephanta Caves. They are the focal point of Gharapuri Island, which was renamed the Elephanta Island by the Portuguese.  The caves have been designated by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.Located on an island facing the city the only access is by boat. Board your motor boat from Gateway of India jetty for a 45 minute ride to Elephanta Island. A toy train takes you to the steps (120 Steps) leading to the caves. The caves date from the 8th century and they have remarkable statues that unfold a story carved in stone. Your tour guide will bring to life these stone statues as they narrate the stories from Indian mythology.

After some free time return to the jetty to take your 45 minutes boat ride back to Gateway of India jetty.

Afternoon, proceed for a half day city tour of Mumbai. This will give an insight to Mumbai’s past and present.

Drive to Churchgate station to witness the activity of the Famous ‘Dabbawala’s’- Lunch box delivery men known for their accurate delivery of lunch boxes to thousands of people residing in the suburbs of Mumbai and coming to work in the city.

Board a ‘local’ commuter train for a brief ride to ‘Mahalakshmi station’.

Local trains of Mumbai are the life line of the city carrying as many as a million people to work each day.

Arrive at Mahalakshmi station and visit the ‘Dhobi Ghat’ for a photo stop, the open-air Indian laundry. Proceed to visit Mani Bhavan which is a museum and was the residence of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi when he stayed in Mumbai from 1917 to 1934.  Drive past the Parsi Tower of Silence, the Girgaum Chowpatty (beach) and The Queens Necklace famous for its Art Deco buildings.

Visit the Prince of Wales Museum. It is now commonly known as ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya’, was established during the early 20th century. This museum is considered as a heritage building in Mumbai because of its admirable architecture. The Prince of Wales Museum is one of the most significant museums in India. The museum showcases several collections of ancient artworks, sculptures and artefacts in its galleries.

DAY 13                      MUMBAI
